The silence of night aborbs me
as I tread this lonely road -
my passage to dawn.
My apparent desolate surroundings
make me feel vulnerable,
for vulnerable is what I am -
to a wooden stake of vengeance.
The silence of night is broken.
I hear the screams of the village behind
and it dawns upon me
that I am not wanted.
I'm no longer absorbing the silence
but yet my depression -
this curse that is mine,
but I do not own.
The silence of night is broken.
My lonely road, the barren road
ends upon me yet abruptly.
Daylight breaks.
The violence of day absorbs me
as I tread this lonely road -
my passage to dawn.
Daylight breaks.

Some people are a lot like Slinkies - They're not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
